Keira Knighley and Alice Eve (She's Out Of My League) are rumored to be in the running for the female lead Peggy Carter. The character is the great aunt of SHIELD agent Sharon Carter and was a spy during WWII.
SUGGESTED
HeroComplex (LA Times) has suggested British actress Gemma Arterton for the female lead. Gemma has a pretty decent list of big films in her resume which include Quantum of Solace, Clash of The Titans and Prince of Persia.
