Arfa Karim: Youngest MCP in Critical Condition, Please Pray For Her!

On December 22, Aarifa was admitted to Lahore’s CMH hospital after suffering cardiac arrest. On Thursday, doctors said there is no hope for her survival, and that her life support could be switched off ‘at any time’.
Arfa Karim belongs to
Faisalabad in Pakistan and became the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional in 2004 at the tender age of nine. She earned the Fatimah Jinnah Gold Medal in the field of Science and Technology by the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award by the President of Pakistan over her achievement, in 2005. She also earned the Pride of Performance award by the President of Pakistan, the highest award presented in Pakistan for excellence in the respective field. She is the youngest Pakistani to ever receive that award!

S. Somasegar, Corporate Vice President of the Developer Division, Microsoft, arranged a trip for Arfa and her father to visit Microsoft and interact with the people working there.
“Arfa is such an inspiration to women and kids in technology, and really to everyone who learns of her story. I thought it was important for her to come to Redmond to give her exposure to Microsoft. I hope to see her working here someday,” Somasegar said.

Arfa represented Pakistan among 5000 developers in the Tech-Ed Developers Conference, held in Barcelona in November 2006, where she was a keynote speaker. By age 10, she earned her first flying certificate by flying a plane at a flight club in Dubai.
She is also a poet. Here is a list of her poems.
Arfa is now 16 years old and in the 2nd year of her A-Levels in the Lahore Grammar School. I request you all to pray for the extraordinary young girl… if life gives her another chance, she can go a long way.
My thoughts go out to Aarifa Karim Randhawa. God give us a miracle. Keep praying for her miraculous recovery!

UPDATE: Arfa’s father Lt. Col (Retd) Amjad Kareem Randhawa has revealed that Arfa moved a few fingers today and her brain showed some activity. She still remains in a critical state and doctors have renewed efforts in trying to save her.
