More Actors Testing For The Role Of Arthur In Arthur And Lancelot

With Joel Kinnaman (Snabba Cash) in talks for Lancelot and Warner Bros. wanting Gary Oldman for Merlin the main role of Arthur has yet to be cast. HollywoodReporter is listing a few more names that are testing for the role. Kit Harrington is still in the mix who had been mentioned as a front-runner. The new names testing include his Game of Thrones' brother Richard Madden, Luke Evans and Tobey Kebbell.

While WB might be quick to cash-in on the Game of The Thrones heat with Harrington and Madden the other guys could be a better pick. Luke Evans has been making a splash with every big film that involves swords including The Hobbit, Clash of The Titans, Immortals and Three Musketeers. Tobey might be impressing the studio with his performance in Wrath of The Titans as he's rumored to be returning for Clash of The Titans 3.

That being said the studio seems to be testing every actor possible for Arthur. The previous group included Sam Claflin (On Stranger Tides, Snow White And The Huntsman), Dominic Cooper (Captain America, Devil's Double), Hans Matheson (Sherlock Holmes, Les Miserables), Jim Sturgess, Ben Walker (Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter, Paradise Lost) and Liam Hemsworth (Expendables 2). I'm hoping that we could see these names resurface in supporting roles as there should be plenty of knights and enemy roles to fill.

Ryan Gosling Joins Nicolas Winding Refn's Only God Forgives

Twitch reports that Ryan Gosling has joined Nicolas Winding Refn's (Drive, Bronson) Only God Forgives. It's expected to be Nicolas' next project before making I Walk With The Dead with Carey Mulligan. The film set in Bangkok will bring the writer/director back to the world of drug dealers. He blew everyone away with his drug epic Pusher trilogy. It's unknown if Gosling is replacing previously linked actor Luke Evans who just landed a decent sized role on The Hobbit. Kristin Scott Thomas (Nowhere Boy, The English Patient) is expected to play Julian's mother.

"Julian is on the run from the British police. He runs a Thai Boxing club in Bangkok which is a front for a drugs smuggling operation. He is well respected within the criminal underworld, but deep in his heart he feels that his life is lacking something. He meets a retired cop, The Angel of Vengeance, and finds out that he has to confront his mother."

Luke Evans To Play Bard In The Hobbit

Deadline reports that Luke Evans (Robin Hood, Immortals) has nabbed one of the final big roles in Peter Jackson's Hobbit films. Luke will play archer Bard The Grim who is the heir of King Girion of Dale (killed by Smaug). Bard is expected to have a larger role in the films similar to that of Viggo Mortensen's Aragorn. Evans along with Richard Armitage (Captain America) could end up becoming the breakout stars of the two films.

Actors Start Testing For Bourne Legacy

Deadline reports that Tony Gilroy's Bourne Legacy is heating up as the first group of actors to test have been revealed. They include Joel Edgerton (The Thing, Animal Kingdom, Warrior, King Aurthur), Luke Evans (Three Musketeers, The Raven, Immortals), Garrett Hedlund (Tron Legacy, Troy) and Dominic Cooper (Captain America, An Education).

Joel and Luke are my favorites of this group. Cooper doesn't seem a good fit for the Bourne franchise. Garrett has been linked to other films like Akira and Daredevil so I'm not sure how interest he would be.

Luke Evans & Alice Eve Join The Raven

TheHollywoodReporter says that Luke Evans and Alice Eve are in talks to join The Raven. Evans would be replacing Jeremy Renner who had been attached to star but left to focus on MI4. Luke will play detective who has to team up with Edgar Allen Poe played by John Cusack. The pair's mission is to save Poe's kidnapped fiancee played by Eve from a serial killer. Raven seems like it's going to be a darker version of Sherlock Holmes meets Se7en which could be good or terrible. The hope is that director James McTeigue can do the project justice like he did with V For Vendetta.
