TheWrap confirms Universal is finally moving forward with a Wanted 2. The studio has set Michael Brandt and Derek Haas to return as writers on the script. Originally Universal was intent on making director Timur Bekmambetov bring back Angelina Jolie's character back from the dead. Now with James McAvoy (Wesley) taking a turn as leading man in this summer's blockbuster X-Men First Class and movement on First Class 2 already in the works. It looks like James won't need Jolie after all to get the movie made.

Fox Developing Second 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Project

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea was just recently been resurrected by Disney and David Fincher. Now there is word from HeatVision that 20th Century Fox is looking to make their own update on Jules Verne classic with the help of Ridley and Tony Scott. While neither of Scotts will be directing they will be producing with their company Scott Free. They go on to name Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) as a possible director for the project with Travis Beacham (Clash of The Titans) handling the screenwriting duties. I have nothing against Timur but if I had to choose between Fincher and his film, I would going with Fincher. I'm hoping the projects are drastically different or one might end up killed.
