Wachowskis' New Sci-Fi Film Jupiter Ascending Shooting In 2012?

It looks like the Wachowskis are heading back to the world of science fiction with Warner Bros. The directing silbings created the franchise which turned out one the biggest box office successes for an R-rated series. They're currently shooting segments for Cloud Atlas but haven't announced their next full length film. There had been talk of a futuristic version of Robin Hood with Will Smith and a mystery project involving an unappealing story which wasn't getting interest from studios. Deadline reports their next project is titled Jupiter Ascending which is a return to science fiction for the duo. Details are unknown at this point but hopefully like Matrix they'll be thinking outside of the box giving us another classic.

RUMOR: Keanu Confirms Two More Matrix Films & Will Smith In Hood?

AICN news is reporting from a source who heard Keanu Reeves speak on the current status of projects from the Wachowskis. He went on to confirm two more Matrix films have treatments written. The directing duo have locked in Will Smith for Hood. Their fututristic take on Robin Hood which Reeves says Warner Bros. bought for $5 Million. Curiously enough there is no mention of their gestating project CN-9. While I'm interested in anything involving the Wachowskis I'm not how of much this is true.

"Says he met the Wachowski's (no emphasis on the word brothers), for lunch over Christmas and stated that they had completed work on a two picture script treatment that would see him return to the world of the Matrix as Neo. Says the brothers have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pro's and con's of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen again. Keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title "The Matrix" and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionise the action genre like the first movie. Wachowski's are working on a movie called Cloud Atlas at the moment, once that concludes they will talk again."

"Wachowski's had just sold the most expensive script in history to Warner Brothers. a modern futuristic take on the legend of Robin Hood. Says he understands WB paid $5 million for the rights and that from what the Wachowski's have told him, it will be an action movie that would have the same impact visually and technically that Terminator 2 had. Confirmed that Will Smith has agreed to headline the picture."

UPDATE: This story has been proven as being completely false.

The Wachowskis' Next Film Is Hood, Will Smith Offered Lead Role?

HeatVision reports Warner Bros., producer Joel Silver and the Wachowskis will re-team for Hood. The film is an modern urban take on the Robin Hood tale. It will be written and directed by the pair who haven't made a film since the underrated/visually stunning Speed Racer. Knowing the Wachowskis it will have epic action scenes and could be a franchise in the making. They've reached out to Will Smith, who originally passed on the role of Neo but his wife Jada starred in the sequels. Their other project CN-9 is currently having funding issues so it seems like this one could go into production first.

Offers Go Out For Tom Tykwer's Cloud Atlas

The Playlist (via Production Weekly) reports that offers have gone out for Tom Tykwer's (Run Lola Run) Cloud Atlas which is being produced by the Wachowskis (Matrix) and is based on the novel by David Mitchell. The actors include Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Natalie Portman (previously rumored), James McAvoy and Sir Ian McKellen.

Wachowskis Next Film Finally Revealed

Deadline has discovered that the Wachowskis are currently shopping around their latest project. The pair have just completed the script although having shot test footage with Jesse Ventura and Arianna Huffington. What's interesting is that the futuristic Iraq-war film involves a gay romance. While it might seem odd subject matter, their first film Bound was a heist film that revolved around a developing lesbian relationship. The film is being labeled as Hard-R, I'm not sure if it's for sexuality or violence. I'd like to think it's both since the two like to push buttons and Hollywood standards. I'd like to think it could be a mix of Bound, Speed Racer and Matrix. I'm shocked even with it's possible controversy that Warner Bros. hasn't jumped on it.
