TheHollywoodReporter has the news that Guy Pearce (L.A. Confidential, Animal Kingdom) and Gary Oldman have joined John Hillcoat's The Wettest County. The prohabtion era thriller already has some up-and-comers lined up including Tom Hardy (Inception, Dark Knight Rises), Jessica Chastain (The Debt) and Shia LaBeouf. The young Australian actress is slowly becoming a well known name with roles in Defiance, Alice In Wonderland, The Kids Are All Right and the upcoming Jane Eyre. Mia would join Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf and Jessica Chastain (Tree of Life, The Debt) in the prohibition drama.

The film is based on the novel by  Matt Boundurant and is adapted by musician Nick Cave who also wrote The Proposition. I still hold out hope Cave will also score the film as well. It focuses on three brothers and their illegal alcohol business during the height of prohibition.
