It looks like the previous talk of both Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass not returning for the next Bourne film is true. Matt Damon recently talked to Empire and revealed that it's going to be a while before he'll step into Bourne's shoes. I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing since we could still be getting Greengrass/Damon films like Green Zone in the future, just not using the Bourne title. It could be interesting to see the original training and early missions Bourne is sent off to complete.
“There’ll probably be a prequel of some kind with another actor and another director before we do another one,” he said, “just because I think we’re probably another five years away from doing it - we’ve got to get a script…”
