NEWS/RUMORS (Feb 4th)

Eric Bana best known for kick-ass roles in Munich and Star Trek will join Joe Wright's (Atonement) Hanna according to Heat Vision. The story centers on a 14-year-old girl (Saoirse Ronan) who has spent her life living in the woods and is trained by her father to be an assassin. She then leaves the wilderness for the first time to assassinate a high-ranking government official who has a lot to hide. Bana will play Hanna's father in the film.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting on the next film from Terry Malick (The Thin Red Line, The New World, The Tree of Life) which is an untitled love story he wrote and will direct. The impressive cast includes Christian Bale, Javier Bardem, Rachel McAdams and Olga Kurylenko.

Variety reports that Danny McBride (Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express, Up In The Air) and director Jody Hill (Observe & Report, Fist Foot Way, Eastbound & Down) will re-team for L.A.P.I..

Some impressive new casting additions to Burke & Hare includes Jessica Hynes, Christopher Lee, Ronnie Corbett, Tim Curry, Michael Smiley, Bill Bailey, Hugh Bonneville, John Woodvine and Reece Shearsmith. The film has started production and I expect it could be released within the year.

Mark Millar recently told IGN that Wanted 2's script is almost done. I'm not certain how reliable he is since he said back in July the script was finished and the film would begin production in 8 months.

A Gunsmoke film is in the works based on the long running television series. It looks like Brad Pitt and Ryan Reynolds is on the top of the studio's list.

Daryl Hannah is under the impression she'll return as Elle Driver in Kill Bill 3. Stating the tradition of blind samurais in Japanese films.

Variety says that Sony has made a bid for the Terminator rights. It's unknown what their offer is but it has to be higher than Lionsgate's bid for $15 million. When Terminator Salvation was released last year Warner Bros. and Sony shared distribution. Sony made out the best out of the two with their international distribution. Sony doesn't have many franchises so I expect them to try to do their best to move forward with another Termintor film or complete reboot very soon.
