Heat Vision reports Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Die Hard 4, Scott Pilgrim, Death Proof) and Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom, King Aurthur, Smokin' Aces) will star in The Thing. The film will be a prequel to the original 1982 John Carpenter film focusing on the Norwegian camp. The script was co-written by Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) and Eric Heisserer (Nightmare On Elm Street 2010). It will be helmed by Matthijs Van Heijningen a very talented commerical director.


Deadline Hollywood is confirming that Sam Worthington will star in The Fields. The gritty Texas crime thriller based on true events will be the debut film for director Ami Canaan Mann the daughter of Micheal Mann (Heat, Public Enemies).


Kate Beckinsale is rumored to have signed on to play Princess Margret in The Princess & The Gangster. The story of the royal’s love affair with notorious gangster and actor John Bindon.


Deadline Hollywood claims that David S. Goyer has left his television series Flash Forward to focus on films. They list The Dark Knight sequel with co-writer Jonah Nolan as one of his current projects.
