Heat Vision reports Penelope Cruz is in talks to co-star with Johnny Depp for Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Cruz previously worked with director Rob Marshall on Nine.


Robocop screenwriter David Self (Road To Perdition, Wolfman) confirms to ShockTillYouDrop the reboot is in development and director Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem For A Dream, Wrestler) is still attached.

"I’m still involved with it and Darren Aronofsky’s still involved with it. He’s making another movie right now (Black Swan), but we’re waiting for MGM, to sort things out since they’re a large corporation and it’s a situation where we have to be practical. We’re waiting to continue with them, we hope that that happens soon and we can get back to it soon."


The Spider-Man reboot will be in theaters on July 3rd 2012 and it's going to be in 3D.


Vulture is reporting thanks to a rewrite from Allan Loeb (Wallstreet 2) New Line is moving quickly on their Escape From New York remake. It's unknown if Gerard Butler will now re-join the project.


The Playlist reports that Bryce Dallas Howard (Hereafter) has joined I'm With Cancer. Howard will star alongside James McAvoy, Anna Kendrick and Seth Rogen. Summit Entertainment recently gained North American distribution rights for the film.


The Playlist also reports Emily Browning (Sucker Punch) will replace Mia Wasikowska (Defiance, Alice In Wonderland) in Sleeping Beauty. The film has no connection with Disney and is dark film focusing on "a haunting erotic fairy tale about a student who drifts into prostitution and finds her niche as a woman who sleeps, drugged, in a 'Sleeping Beauty chamber' while men do to her what she can‘t remember the next morning." Wasikowska will now star in Jane Eyre which was originally going to star Ellen Page.
