We've been hearing about Iron Man 3 for a while now and it seems almost set in stone. Yet we don't really know who'll be returning besides RDJ and Jon Favreau. Don Cheadle who plays Jim Rhodes aka War Machine talked to Wizard Magazine about returning for a third installment. He doesn't however believe that his character War Machine will be getting his own spin-off any time soon.
"People have asked but no one [in authority] has mentioned it as something that's happening."
"Hopefully, if this one does well, there'll be another [Iron Man film] with the same people. But there won't be a [War Machine] spin-off."
I'd love to see Cheadle get a War Machine spin-off but that won't be happening until Iron Man 3 and Avengers is over with. He's too good of a supporting character for Iron Man so until they stop making Iron Man movies he won't be going solo.
